Beneath a blanket of frost and snow, Crystalspire lies veiled in winter's embrace. Only the majestic metallic spires, glinting like polished gems, pierce the icy shroud, their heights crowned by swirling clouds. The Sea of Ice stretches beyond, an expanse of glacial beauty, where the horizon blurs into a realm of white. Most of the city is underground beneath the frost, ice, and snow. In fact the spires are inhabited only by workers of various industries during, including city security, in case of an attack by enemy factions.
The city is more than a thousand years old and has seen generations of the Forged birthed, age, and die within its walls.
Lacewings are farmed by multiple families on Pyramus, not just the Getai’s. They are a purple beetle-like insect with yellow wings about the size of a human hand that have a silk-like blood. The silk is harvested by pulling off the wings, which do eventually grow back, however, when the wings are removed, for a time the Lacewings leak a thick white silk that is reinforced—naturally, and can with stand slashing from knives—by the insect properties. Before it coagulates, workers collect as much as they can by pulling the first drops with tweezer like manipulators onto wheels where it is left to dry before being dyed and made into fabric which is shipped all over the Forged worlds.
Lacewings can produce three-to-six times there body weight in silk every time this process is preformed.
Grand Ethnarchy Corrina Getai
On the ice-encased planet of Pyramus, three colossal cities—Frosthaven, Glacius, and Crystalspire— are the only settlements. Each exist on one section of the planet by themselves. Their buildings huddle together out of reach of the failing light underneath layers of ice reaching downward through the bedrock and mantle. Each city, a bastion against the encroaching cold, whispered tales of survival and unity, through the generations, beneath the relentless frost thriving on geothermal energy, harnessing the planets core as warmth. Citizens navigate their frosty world through intricate tunnels—as the atmosphere of this particular planet is poisonous—exchanging knowledge and resources. Outside, endless glaciers glisten, but within, laughter and warmth ignite a vibrant culture, defying the harshness of their icy realm.
In the capital city of Crystalspire, Corrina Getai, heir to the Getai legacy, roamed the opulent halls of her family's estate, where shimmering silk cascaded like waterfalls. Harvested from the Lacewing, delicate yet resilient, large purple beetle-like bugs that were not native to the planet. Amidst luxury, Corrina yearned for a bigger future, dreaming of the Forged beyond silk and her nobility. Her heart fluttered like the wings of the creatures that sustained her family, pushing her toward a destiny entwined with magic and discovery.
As she grew, the daughter of the Getai household blossomed into a formidable intellect, her mind sharp as a blade. With each lesson, she absorbed the intricacies of governance and the weighty responsibilities of leadership. Her father, proud yet aware of societal expectations, nurtured her ambitions, often saying, “A true leader must be more than a figurehead.” Under the tutelage of esteemed scholars, she learned diplomacy, strategy, and the art of negotiation.
Undeterred by societies expectations, she vowed to prove them wrong, determined to reshape the legacy of the Getai family and carve her own path, not just as a successor, but as a pioneer in her own right. The city council meetings, once intimidating, became her arena. She questioned, challenged, and proposed ideas that sparked debates among the elders. As she absorbed knowledge and wisdom, her spirit grew fierce. Her father reveled in her resilience, knowing she would shatter expectations. While others saw her as an heir, she envisioned herself as a leader, ready to challenge the traditions binding her family. In her heart, a fire ignited—one that could not be extinguished.
Corrina joined the System Council at twenty-eight, she immersed herself in debates and decisions that shaped her world. Her keen insight and unwavering dedication caught the attention of her peers, and by thirty, she was elected to represent the system at the esteemed Council of Grand Masters. The Council is a gathering of the most powerful and wise, where strategies were forged and destinies altered.
As she stepped into the grand chamber, a mix of excitement and trepidation coursed through her veins. Each Grand Master held the weight of generations, their gazes piercing, yet she stood resolute. Corrina knew she brought a fresh perspective, one forged in the struggles of her people. With every word she spoke, she aimed to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, determined to leave her mark on the very fabric of their society.
